Carol Hamilton, Chairman
Married, resident of Prestbury for 23 years living on Withinlee
Road. A retired business executive having spent 25 years in
corporate business starting up and overseeing manufacturing
business in America, Brazil, Mexico, Japan, India and Europe.
I left the corporate world in 1988 and started up my own picture
framing shops and fine art galleries in Altrincham, Manchester,
Richmond, Twickenham and Shrewsbury along with a small equipment
manufacturing company in Ashton-under-Lyne. I have now fully
retired from all business and wish to devote some of my efforts
and time towards maintaining and improving the wonderful Village
of Prestbury.
Caroline Roebuck

company based in Bollington, where she has worked managing
global publications and communications programmes, with a
focus on large meetings and events, since 2002.

in Prestbury village for 3 years. She is married to John and
they have a baby daughter.
Chris Howe
Orginally from Buxton, Chris returned to the North West after
10 years based in and around London working for a number of
the major Consultancy businesses - work which took him to
various parts of the UK on major projects. Chris now works
as a Divisional Business Director for Addleshaw Goddard, the
UK's 16th largest Law firm. Chris has lived in the village
for 10 years together with his wife and three children, two
of whom are now at Prestbury School. I think the development
of a Parish Plan is a great opportunity to involve a wide
cross-section of the Community in determining what we value
most about the place we live, and especially what we can do
to enhance and develop it so that we and future generations
will continue to choose the village as a great place to live.
Geoff Leary
I have lived at my present address in Well Lane , Butley Town
, Prestbury for 20 years along with my wife Irene. We have
two sons and four grand children
Prior to my retirement I worked in Local Government
for 36 years, the last 16 as chief officer. I am a chartered
civil engineer with considerable experience in the general
delivery of local services. I have particular experience in
engineering and highways.
Retirement gives me the opportunity to have
a modest input into supporting the local community and I joined
the Macclesfield Rotary Club with this in mind. Being a member
of the Prestbury Parish Plan Steering Group will give me the
opportunity to have an input into addressing the issues which
are of concern to us all, bringing forward the local view.
Rob Parrish
Rob is the Commercial Director in a global communications
and market research agency based in Tytherington. Rob leads
the market research division within the company and is a member
of the Market Research Society. He has extensive experience
of running large market research projects involving a variety
of techniques such as questionnaires, one-to-one interviews,
focus group discussions etc. Rob is married with two daughters,
the eldest of which is in the reception year at Bollin Grove
school.

Duncan Broomhead I am 60 years old, a retired Police Officer, married
with one daughter. I have lived in Prestbury for nearly 10
years and have had a long term interest in community issues.
My family connections in the area stretch back
several generations and my main reason for becoming involved
in the Plan for Prestbury was because it represented an opportunity
for me to become involved long term projects that could have
lasting benefits for the whole of the parish, a parish that
I have known all my life.
Richard Comber, Vice Chairman
My wife and I have lived in Broad Walk for the last 16 years
and, after a peripatetic working life, now regard Prestbury
as our home. We have three grown-up children, all settled
in the area, and three grandsons.
I have been a parish councillor for three years
and as Chairman of Prestbury Parish Council I have been an
active and enthusiastic advocate of the Parish Plan initiative.
Whilst it cannot be a panacea for all our problems and concerns,
I firmly believe that the structured and inclusive nature
of the Parish Plan process will prove a powerful tool to help
us both to consolidate what we value in our community and
to make changes where we can to improve life for us all.
Valerie Herbert
Valerie Herbert has lived in Prestbury for 9 years. When she
and her partner, Michael, moved here, they thought that they
would eventually move back to the South, but now they are
passionate about this part of the country generally and this
village in particular. Valerie is a science graduate and has
spent most of her 35 year career to date working in different
parts of England for major international companies; she has
largely worked in two specific areas and mainly in managerial
positions. Additionally for 5 years she worked in a busy teaching
hospital organising services to in-patients and out-patients.
She is passionate about making a difference, preserving the
good and changing the less good to make it better. Also in
her spare time she does some volunteer work for the hospice.
Catherine Tooher I have lived in Prestbury for 10 years (I currently live
in Birch Way off Castlegate), and have two children, both
of whom attend the village school. I have a degree in Chinese
from Oxford University and an MBA from London Business School.
I worked for 3i in Manchester as an Investment Director for
8 years, having previously also worked for Gemini Consulting,
based in London, and for Aluvic Pty Ltd in China. Since 2003,
I have been at home with my children, but recently began to
teach basic Chinese at a primary school in Withington under
the auspices of the Confucius Institute, part of Manchester
University. Over the past four years I have been active in
a voluntary capacity in village life: on the editorial team
of "The Rock"; as a Community Speedwatch volunteer;
helping to promote safe walking to school and teaching road
safety skills to children at Prestbury School. I enjoy writing,
running, gardening, cooking and theatre. With my family, I
attend St Peter's regularly.
The village plan seems to me to be a fantastic
opportunity for Prestbury people to work together to shape
the future of our village. I feel that I want to do whatever
I can to help make the most of it - so I volunteered for the
committee. I am looking forward meeting lots of new people
as we seek views and ideas which will form the basis of our
future plans.
